The International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) wants to give voice to a generation that is concerned about the future of our planet, a generation that believes we are not doing enough.

This is why our organization offers itself as a platform to help this new generation raise its voice by informing the public through videos and essays about the geologicaland environmental challenges and hazards in their region and/or country and how geology can be important in helping solve the climate crisis. To help with this we have created an open call for reporters from around the world that has attracted a great deal of attention.  Be part of our team and join us!

Note: The call for new IUGS Young Reporters is currently closed. We will receive new submissions on March 2025.

I am Eva, a student in France, and I enjoy understanding geosciences by going in-depth: through hands-on experimentation, physical modeling, and underlying mathematics. New knowledge and techniques, and their sharing, should contribute to saving the planet for a better world.

France

I am a young French undergraduate student who loves geosciences. Climate change, astronomy and geology have always interested me, they have led me to the Earth sciences in general ; I wish I could share my passion with others. I also want to use my voice to make others discover geosciences and theirs issues as the climate change or the erosion.

I am Mario Celentano, an Italian high school student with a passion for geosciences. I believe that they are still not given enough importance by our current society and, for this reason, I am interested in educating the public on different topics, in an interesting and simple to understand way, in order to raise awareness about the wonders and the problems of our planet.
